It offers a fully functional trial version
I like a lot of tutorials on the website. Availability of user’s guides was very important for me because I have never used similar software, There are video tutorials on the site and it is very cool. These videos have helped me a lot. I could convert the scanned image of documents into editable text documents. The OCR results were not perfect but they were! I have tried other programs and I could not because their trial versions blocked this feature.
- A lot of tutorials.
- OCR is available in the trial.
- I have not found.
I cannot enter text into the fillable fields in pdf forms.
It is Disappointing! I need a program to fill in some permit applications. These are government applications. I have gotten them as pdf forms. I have chosen phantompdf for these actions. But it does not work!! I try to type information into the fields but I cannot! It shows a small hand icon when the cursor hovers the fillable fields but never allows me to type information, any information.
- Bugs with entering text.
The new interfaice is terrible.
I used it for many years. I used Standard and Business edition and liked them. Yes, it has some bugs but they are (at least, most of them) are not terrible. This was true until the new version of the interface has been released... There are a lot of mistakes even in simple actions as selecting and copying text to the clipboard. The interface is extremely awkward. I hope that in the next version they will fix some of these major setbacks. So while they will not do it, I`ll stay away.
- Was good for work.
- The new interfaice
- The problem with the basic actions.
The license may be kicked after the program upgrade.
I used standard edition, but the tools offered in this version was not enough for me. So I switched to business edition (purchased it). It has all necessary instruments for me, so I can do what I need. It is easy to learn. But I had the same problem twice. After the program updated, it had switched to standard edition license. I had to go to IT company to repair the license. And this is not free, at a charge... If this is a permanent problem? This program will be for me too expansively because I will have to pay additional money and cannot do my work...
- Easy to learn
- A lot of tools.
- There is problem with the license after upgrading.
It is better than Acrobate.
I like PhantomPDF and use it with pleasure. It is really easy to use, user-friendly interface (it is well organized). I use it for editing PDF text and think that PhantomPDF is more better than Adobe Acrobat. I do not know is this true for you but in my case - it is better. I have not found any flaws yet.
- Easy to use
- user-friendly interface
- Good tools for editing PDF.
- None currently.
It incorrectly converts Adobe InDesign files.
This program is one of the best on the market and I was pleased when first used it. I have to do a lot of conversions (various file types to PDF type) and I found that the results of converting are wrong. I think the program simply does not convert to PDF. Because I got errors when I tried to open the converted files. I converted Adobe InDesign files to pdf. It is useless to me in this case. I tried to use another program (PDF Xchange) and It has no problem with conversions.
- None for me.
- The problem with the conversions.
Constant re-authentication to be able to open documents
I like this program, it is great itself. But there is one problem that does not allow us to buy another license. I am saying about the re-authentication for continued use. It is annoying as hell. That is why I will never purchase else license for our other computers. Why I have to log in when I open documents?? I use the program every day and that is a nightmare. There is no way to save the login and the password...
- It itself is okay,
it works quite well.
I use the trial copy as wanted to try the program. I like how it works - quite well. It provides various necessary features like pdf editing, converting PDF to Word, signing documents, etc. But there is one imperfection - no a license for multiple computers, only a single machine. And if you have several devices to work (home pc, office pc or something else) you have to buy a license for each pc. It is too expensive! There a lot of other programs which have much better license policies and work quite well too.
- No multiple device license.
I like it much better than Adobe product.
I use PhantomPDF on my home computer. I like it more than Adobe program. It is a lot cheaper. It works well, has enough features that make it easy to work with documents in PDF format. I have decided to choose it to use on our office computers.
