I downloaded this today and found it very easy and quick to install. I have a 4-year old HP, and this tuneup detected a lot of issues that needed attention. With just a click, all the problems were resolved, and my laptop is running much faster. While this AVG unit offers other scans, I had some Registry issues, and disc fragmentation that was repaired and my PC performance was noticeably improved.
I'm completely satisfied with this program. It saves a lot of my time because it gets rid of me on manual searching gives. Moreover, it really shows me lists with all my applications. I can delete all of them or separately and by a tap of a button. So it comfortable, effective and easy to use application.
A little tip, make sure you put the hyphens in and use all caps when inputting the Key/License numbers. Unless you get an error message, and then you go through each number and letter to see if you have a typo only to discover it is the correct id. I am running the program right now, and it found 390 registry issues, 34 broken shortcuts, and it is still going through the rest of the system. The errors don't surprise me because I have been in the Windows 10 Beta program since its inception and sometimes, it is necessary to remove the last update to fix issues that the update created. This may be a long process. It is working on the system cache and logs (I know there is a lot there because I send issues to Microsoft with their updates as I come across them. Next, it will hit the browser settings and then startup and shutdown and finally disk fragmentation - shouldn't be needed, I keep up on maintenance. While this runs, I can say that it appears to be working as it should. I have used this program before so I am familiar with how it works and will be removing duplicate files that are in different folders. Thanks to One Drive.
Well, you get a box with a card in it, and you have to download the program, which is very lovely. I downloaded it to a USB, and then no CD is needed Make sure you enter the dashes in our registration number, and it isn't case sensitive Installed real easy, found over 700 errors. Took about 15 min to correct the errors and 30 mins to scan. My pc is faster now, and Google is not crashing anymore. I wish the driver updater came with it for free, but it's an extra cost, and this is only for one year, you can find better prices for sure Pricing is the only downsize 1PC, and 1Year is all you get
It's a worthy program that I guess, will be especially interesting for users without any experience, because it has a step-by-step interface. But it is partly a free program and you should buy it because the trial version only detects issues but corrects only some of them. This uninstaller just like the step-by-step master. At first, it creates a backup copy of the registry, then scans for the issues, the user can solve found issues, at finally it defragments the registry. It's an effective tool.
AVG has an excellent reputation for safety, but the tune-up is a little too thorough and can wipe out data such as prefetch that the hard drive depends on for search options. PC tuneup does a great job defragmenting both hard drive and external devices. I traded up on this utility and installed Tune-Up Utilities 2013, and it restored ALL of my Vista features!! AVG...stick with security!
Favorite part is the programs on demand feature which places open applications in sleep mode unless being used. The startup programs function was a bit too aggressive. It disabled The Boot Camp software needed to restart in Mac mode. Had to do some digging to re-enable it and reboot as well. Now I'm wondering if only the apps I required got turn-off. In general, my Windows 10 mode appears faster and more stable, so if you are running a Windows-only machine, you should have no problems.
Having the PC tune-up is essential, it adds on to your AVG program allowing you to help make your PC work at its peak performance. The program enables you to free up space as well as look for duplicate files. The process, for the most part, is automated. I have a few things on my PC I did not want the program to touch, so I left them there. You cannot use every feature in the program. I attached a photo of the dashboard so you can see what it looks like
After installation, it ran and wanted to scan my system- it only took about 10 minutes, and it detected several registry issues and a few startup/shutdown issues. After running cleanup, I no longer had a startup error I'd been getting. It let me skip cleaning my browser because I do some sweepstakes I didn't want all my cookies and such deleted. Most people might like this capability, but it isn't something I want, so I am glad I can skip it. I noticed that it deferred defrag. I already have that set up automatically with Windows. I'm happy it didn't do it when it wasn't needed. I think it's an excellent program for cleaning up the registry and fixing tough start up/shut down problems quickly and easily.
PC tuneup used to be a great product but has slid over the years to resemble the very thing it used to fight. If you let your subscription lapse, it will plague you with endless pop-ups; and if you try to open Tuneup to deactivate the pop-ups, you'll find out that you can't until you reinstate your subscription. "Pay us, and we'll let you remove the program." Sound like ransomware to you? It does to me.
It's the only thing I've found that shuts down the dreaded PC slowing Google update. I would rate it higher if I did not have to try numerous times to get it to shut down that program.
Congratulations, you added review!
