Neural Intelligence Dashboard for Biotechnology Company
We are a startup and our idea is to use nervous system intelligence to improve the human conditions and societal welfare. I am the COO of the company.
We have created a system that consists of both hardware and software to measure the neural state of a person. It includes a digital camera, our very own algorithm implemented using Python, and a web dashboard with the data of every algorithm?s output (depending on the output, the light bulbs change their color.) HUSPI team has worked with us on the last two elements.
We needed to create a proof-of-concept for our main idea and our algorithm and we have heard about HUSPI before, so we contacted them. We began the project with the creation of the system architecture. Ours was a complicated one because we are a startup, and as a result, some parts were unstable. We also needed help with streamlining the information flow. The algorithm takes into account several values: time and 6 different body parameters. HUSPI?s task was to create a web dashboard with data visualization based on our algorithm?s output, user settings, session settings, etc. They collected the information and videos from each session and created graphs connected with the video timeline.
In terms of the technologies used in the project - HUSPI recommended using React, Redux, Core UI, Node.js, Noble, and PostgreSQL.
The team composition changed during our cooperation. At first, we got a consultation from Senior IT PM. The project?s structure was created by the system architect, and then two developers and one Project manager started to work on the actual software development. During the development phase, we also relied on DevOps engineers? support. Not everything was perfect, but in the end, we got a system that could be used in real therapists? sessions for gathering customers? experience data.
For communication and project management, we started using JIRA, but since the project did not last long and had some unexpected turns, we decided to have direct communication via phone, Skype, and Whatsapp.
We were impressed with the HUSPI?s dedication to the project. In terms of areas for improvement, I wish we have spent more time on the initial system audit because it would?ve made the further development process go smoother and more according to the created plan.
