Apple Books (iBooks)

Apple’s reading app goes along with the company’s typical style – elegant, simple and efficient. The books for it are available on its own store. One of the best things that user like about this reading app are the frequent updates.

How it works:

Apple Books (iBooks) has its own store (Apple Books Store) where you can find all the available eBooks and audiobooks. Although this is primarily a reader app, you can simply choose to download a PDF book version from the store and then open the file in a different reading app.

How it works: You can sync this app it with your other devices, start purchasing books from the store itself and read them within the app.

Cool features: The smart resume, speed control, bookmarks, notes, three display themes (Day, Night, Sepia), Wikipedia descriptions and definitions of the words.

User tip: You can upload your own PDF and EPUB files to the Google Play Books. Once you do, navigate to the main menu where you will see “All books”, “Purchases” and “Uploads”, which contains the file you imported.

You can use Bluefire to reread the books you already own or you can also directly purchase new books. You won’t find features that you’ve never experienced before but you will have everything you need to read decently. The plot of this reading app is Adobe Reader Mobile SDK, which makes it suitable for most eBook formats.

How it works: After downloading the app, you will get the access to the Library, which will already have two eBooks. One of those is the User guide and the other one is Treasure Island. From then, you can simply upload your eBooks or buy them directly and start reading.

Another free reading app for book lovers is strongly integrated with the online store Barnes & Noble. You can buy your eBooks anywhere and they will automatically appear in the Nook library. The app supports most eBook formats and has all the features an average reader needs.
